We are pleased to announce that the OSICO Platform has joined as a community partner to the LaunchPad 11 virtual Ecosystem powered by Leading Cities: A virtual community of corporations, industry leaders and solution providers coming together with the primary mission of addressing the challenges facing communities on a global scale. To support the growth and development of LaunchPad 11 members, Leading Cities leverages its network of global experts for advice, city leaders for customer engagement and investors for funding.
OSICO as a community partner will receive certain benefits including access to entrepreneurs, emerging technologies and a variety of events. In addition, we have certain responsibilities that include, among others, organizing events in this virtual space enabled for this purpose. For its part, the OSICO Platform will inform and share with Leanding Cities how much information the platform generates through articles, reports, interviews, opinions, as well as make known those circular tools related to measuring the achievements of cities, especially with the SDGs so that information can reach the members and components of Leading Cities and all interested parties.
With a broad and firm vision of the power of clusters, this Alliance has been created where people from different places and origins come together and create ideas and conversations that can give rise to creating manifestations of innovation in different areas, especially that of companies. Indeed, people from different organizations, sectors, disciplines and countries unite around the same strategic objectives.
Leading Cities promotes actions and solutions for a sustainable, resilient and equitable future through innovation and education for entrepreneurs, governments and corporations.
Emerging technology such as the Metaverse created by LaunchPad 11 will be a great ally for urban innovation in smart cities that opens the possibility of overcoming some of the most important challenges that cities have.
Leading Cities and OSICO intend to mentor and support members of both organizations. An agreement that will also allow us to explore new forms of Governance between technology, innovation and politics that give way to new ways of finding solutions, capable of integrating interests, objectives and development strategies.
Let’s take advantage of knowledge, let’s take advantage of the potential of data and, above all, let’s take advantage of collective intelligence as a transformative instrument towards a process of change that has sustainable and inclusive development as a common denominator.

Leading Cities
Leading Cities is a global nonprofit organization based in Boston and founded by10 initial partner cities: Dublin, Boston, Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Lyon, Hamburg, Lisbon, Zapopan, Vancouver and Haifa. It was based on the philosophy that cities, which for the first time represent the majority of the world’s population, are essential to overcoming our great challenges: climate change, human equity and technological development. Originally established in 2008 at Northeastern University, it later spun off as an independent organization that expanded beyond research to promote government sustainability and resilience.
Since then, Leading Cities has evolved to offer a broader range of services for governments, startups and corporations. To connect their global networks, LaunchPad 11 was launched as the first metaverse ecosystem for smart and resilient city innovators by bringing together entrepreneurs, investors and decision makers. Its signature program, QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge, is considered one of the top five Govtech accelerators in the world.
With its global network of world-class cities and towns, Leading Cities has developed tools and programs to share best practices, solutions and lessons learned among city leaders. By understanding the barriers to innovation in cities, Leading Cities connects innovators and solution providers with governments by reducing the risk and cost of innovation.
Since its launch, Leading Cities has achieved several notable results, from strengthening entrepreneurship ecosystems and negotiating international trade agreements to publishing high-impact research reports and sharing innovative public policies between municipalities.
What is QBE AcceliCITY?
QBE AcceliCITY is one of the top 5 GovTech accelerators in the world. It serves as a runway for emerging urban solution providers while reducing the risk and cost of innovation for cities.
Throughout the program, teams participate in a business-to-government focused web-based curriculum, direct interaction with city leaders, free access to our LaunchPad 11 virtual global community, and an intensive Boot Camp led by international companies. , governments, and smart city leaders. QBE AcceliCITY webinars and workshops are designed to help businesses navigate the nuanced challenges of working with governments, distinguishing and conveying business value, and networking within an expansive ecosystem of smart, resilient cities. The program culminates with presentation events that award $150,000 in pilot opportunities to the city.

OSICO PLATFORM
The OSICO Platform is an open innovation space for analysis, reflection and collaboration of some of the most important challenges we have through Social Innovation, especially through Collective Intelligence. All of this, in order to make proposal ideas that can be provided to governance in the process of formulating public policies, having as a common denominator the principles that inspire circular thinking in cities.
The objective of the OSICO platform is to gather knowledge from different types of organizations, built, coordinated and managed by researchers and experts in different areas, in order to formulate proposal ideas that can serve as a model, mentor and guide for Governance. Multilevel in the public policy formulation process.
The strategy adopted by the OSICO Platform is based mainly on the contribution of knowledge from researchers, teachers and experts of each of the challenges, whether through articles, reports, interviews, opinions or proposals for each of the areas.
The participants of the OSICO project carry out open innovation actions in order to give rise to the production of creative knowledge in the area of sustainability and resilience of cities, taking advantage of emerging technologies such as open data, knowledge networks or open hardware.
The compilation and interpretation of the compendium of knowledge gathered in the OSICO Platform is key to exploring synergies between technology, innovation and politics that give way to new forms of more digital Governance.
This Governance has as a common denominator the principles that inspire the circular economy, such as preservation and investment in nature, development through renewable resources, system effectiveness, as well as global and systemic thinking where the parts and the whole They are related to each other. All this in order to effectively face the increasingly important and complex challenges that we currently have.
